What If States Had An Electoral College?

As we all know, the United States Presidential Election uses an electoral college because different areas of the nations have different needs and values.

The state elections, however, do not use a system similar to the electoral college. States use popular vote to choose their governors and senators.

This has become a big issue because states like New York that have huge cities, will always go blue because almost half of the population lives in 300 square miles. This is less than 1% of the state’s total land mass. The needs and values of those outside of New York City are almost completely disregarded because of this.

If we implemented an electoral college system for the state elections, there would be a way for both sides to be heard. This shouldn’t only happen in New York though; it should be changed everywhere. Texas, Florida, California, all states.
