Thousands Protest Anti-Catholic Group In Front Of Dodgers Stadium

Thousands of people showed up to the front gates of the Dodgers game on Friday to protest the Dodgers support of an anti-Catholic group, Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. The religious organization Catholics for Catholics organized the protest for just before the Dodgers game.

Bishop Joseph Strickland said that he would be attending the protest. “I would characterize it more as speaking up the beautiful truth of Jesus Christ,” Strickland said. “Our world needs [it] more desperately than ever. The situation with the Dodgers and this event that they’re sponsoring just really reminds me that people need to know who Jesus Christ is, the power of his love, his savior of all. That really was my motivation.”

The protest seems to have brought awareness to this issue however, because when the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence were being recognized by the Dodgers, the stadium was virtually empty.
