This Day In History: Treaty Of Paris Signed

The official end of the American Revolution was marked by the signing of the Treaty of Paris, on September 3, 1783, by the representatives of the United States, France, Spain, and Great Britain.

The treaty symbolized America’s emergence as it’s own nation, with Britain officially acknowledging the independence of its original 13 American colonies. 

The geographical limits of America stretched from Florida in the south to the Great Lakes in the north and from the Atlantic Ocean on the East coast to the Mississippi River in the west.
