Soccer Star, Neymar, Fined $3 Million For Environment Violations

Professional soccer player, Neymar Jr., was fined three-million dollars for building a twenty-five-thousand-dollar lake at his mansion in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Neymar was reportedly violating local environmental rules while he was constructing his lake. At first Neymar had ignored the threats made by the Mangaratiba City Hall, as he thought nothing would come of it. In fact, Neymar actually threw a party to celebrate the completion of his lake.

However, police would arrive at his door shortly after, and his mood would quickly change. Neymar received the maximum penalty for violating the environmental rules. He will reportedly appeal this decision at a court in Brazil.

Neymar currently plays for a team called Paris Saint Germain, which is a team in France’s first division. Unfortunately for Neymar, he has been injured for the last few months due to a season ending injury he experienced earlier in the year. He is expected to return in the start of the 2023-2024 season.
