North Carolina Child Found After Going Missing 6 Years Ago

A missing child from Illinois has been found in North Carolina after she had gone missing for almost six years. The young girl, Kayla Unbehaun, was just nine years old when she was kidnapped in South Elgin, Illinois.

She had been kidnapped by her mother who didn’t have any right to keep her. The mother who had kidnapped her was named Heather Unbehaun.

She had lost custody of her because of a court case in 2017 which Kayla Unbehaun’s father gained rightful custody of her. However, one day, when her father went to pick up Kayla, she was not there.

Kayla was spotted in Asheville, North Carolina near a store on Saturday, May 13th. The person who spotted them apparently recognized the girl from a Netflix show called “Unsolved Mysteries”. She is fortunately now safe and officially reunited with her father according to multiple reports.
