Montana Becomes First State To Ban TikTok

Montana has announced that they will become the first state in the U.S.A to ban the popular social media app, TikTok. This statement came while Governor of Montana, Greg Gianforte, stated that TikTok was way too risky and that it will be banned as soon as possible.
According to Fox News, Governor Gianforte stated that he signed that legislation and it easily passed through the Montana’s GOP controlled Legislature. No one will be able to download the TikTok app anymore in Montana.
However, this did have some backlash by people who use TikTok, including TikTok Creators.
According to Fox27News, Carly Godard, a TikToker, is suing the state of Montana. She is a TikToker with around one hundred thousand followers and according to her, she cried when TikTok got banned in her state.
The TikTok company also filed a lawsuit against the state of Montana claiming that it violates the First Amendment.
It will be interesting to see how strictly Montana can enforce this ban.
