A report has just been released that shows the Internal Revenue Service has spent approximately $10 million on weapons and combat gear since 2020.

The IRS spent $2.3 million on ammunition, $1.2 million on ballistic shields, $474,000 on rifles, $463,000 on shotguns, $243,000 on body armor vests, $467,000 on tactical lighting, $354,000 on gear bags, and $243,000 on body armor since 2020.

This has many Americans worried that our tax collectors are heavily arming themselves to this extent. Although it is normal for the IRS to have armed agents that lead investigations, many are confused considering that the organization had already spent 10’s of millions of dollars on equipment since 2006.

The IRS also just received $80 billion for extra funding from the Inflation Reduction Act. This also comes after the Treasury Department recommended that the IRS hire more than 80,000 new employees for the government organization, all of which will obviously be paid for by the taxpayers.
