California Reparations Task Force Approves Up To $1.2 Million Payments For Qualifying Black Residents

The California Reparations Task Force has announced that they support payments of up to $1.2 million to every black resident in the state. This plan is now being sent to the state’s legislature for a vote.
If a black resident is 71 years old and lived in California their entire life, then they could receive the full $1.2 million payment. Thankfully, the support of this legislation does not have any legal backing to it, and it will still have to pass through the legislature.
If this bill gets passed, inflation could skyrocket even more than it did during Covid.
According to the California 2021 census, there is over 2.5 million black people in the state and giving them all up to $1.2 million dollars would ruin the state’s economy.
The craziest part about this however, is that there were people protesting the amount. They weren’t protesting for the reparations to be lowered, they wanted to raise how much the black residents will get.
