275 Killed In Odisha, India, Train Crash
At least 275 people were killed, and hundreds were injured after trains derailed in Odisha, India. This is one of the most catastrophic railroad disasters in decades.
One train was given incorrect signals, which resulted in it hitting a freight car, which knocked it off the rails. The trains held over 2,000 passengers in total. No one is sure of whether this was human area, or a mechanical failure.
“Distressed by the train accident in Odisha. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with the bereaved families. May the injured recover soon” the Indian Prime Minister said in a statement. “Deeply moved by the condolence messages from world leaders on the train mishap in Odisha. Their kind words will give strength to the bereaved families. Gratitude for their support.”
The families of those killed in the crash, along with those who suffered injuries will be receiving money in the near future.
