2 Americans Killed In Kidnapping Near U.S. Mexican Border

Four United States citizens were captured by the cartel near the Mexican border. According to CBS News, the four Americans were reportedly driving in the city of Matamoros, Mexico, in a white minivan, when their vehicle was shot at.

The four U.S. citizens were kidnapped at the scene. 2 of the U.S. citizens who were captured, were killed while 2 of them survived. Three of the people who were kidnapped were men, and one was a woman.

According to reports, one Mexican citizen was shot dead in the incident. The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, said the United States citizens had crossed over the border to purchase medications. There has still been no confirmation as to what the motive was in this shooting.
