18 years ago, on July 7, 2005, three bombs were detonated on the underground train system (the Tube) in London, England. A fourth bomb exploded on the top of a double decker bus.

52 people were killed by these bombs, as well as the 4 Islamic terrorist bombers. Over 700 people were also injured in these attacks.

This act of terrorism was done by 4 seemingly ordinary British citizens who carried homemade bombs in the backpacks they were wearing. The bombs on the trains exploded simultaneously at 8:50 AM, while the bomb on the bus detonated later that morning.

This was the worst bombing in London since World War II. Just two weeks later, another bombing was attempted, though the attack was unsuccessful as the bombs only partially detonated.
